Logotype Reveal Animation

Role: Motion Design, Art Direction

Logotype reveal animation for a Hollywood cast campaign films for the Horizon Earphones. Creative director Brendan Dunne, working at this time at Wednesday, approached me to create the Louis Vuitton logotype reveal and product name appearing at the end of this Hollywood cast campaign films. This campaign was broacasted on TV, and living on social media.

The team from Wednesday, with director Spencer Higgins, created a highly sensory, dreamy film integrating cast Sophie Turner, Justin Theroux, Liu Haoran, Urassaya Sperbund and Liya Kebede in beautiful textured wild landscapes around the world. These shots are intertwined with alluring visual representation of sound, sound-waves, wave lengths, using the effect of sound on water, the rearrangement of dirt particules to sound vibrations.

Following this artistic lead, my goal was to achieve a realistic yet dreamy look while still maintaining full technical control. Using a large number of techniques and layered effects this water refraction Louis Vuitton logo reveals, ripples and warps until it fully appears. Once settled, a pulsing vertical light leak glows and keeps the mood going.

I enjoy the process of adding all digital substance to create something impossible to achieve in real life, while giving it the illusion of somehting real and analogue, offering to the viewer a new visual experience.

When by the end of the process, every frame of the animation looks like they would be worthy of being printed out, that’s when I feel good about the work and content about the effort that was put into it.

The films were all adapted in multiple aspect ratio to match all the social media needs, broadcast and other platforms. One more reason to have a fully digitally controlled animation, in order to be flexible for all the adaptation requests.
